Committee awarded our very own Babae: Council of Filipina-Canadian member/director Sherrisa Celis last October 4th, 2022 at The Government House in Edmonton, Alberta. The award recognizes individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations who support seniors, lead the way for improved services and contribute to strong communities. Over the years, Sherrisa Celis has provided volunteer service and demonstrated philanthropic leadership to seniors in Alberta.
Celis started working for Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS) in 2004. She is with the Immigrant Seniors Services and Legal Education Services at CCIS since 2006. Since then, she dedicated herself as a leader in promoting seniors events and activities to keep them active in the society. She is also a strong advocate for seniors’ issues such as elder abuse awareness. An active member of BABAE, Sherrisa is one of the front runners of the organization for projects supporting wellness of seniors and making sure that they live an active, enjoyable and meaningful lifestyle as much possible. Her initiative inspired other people around her.
Congratulations once again to our very own Sherrisa Celis.
